The UK riots, or as Bishop McCulloch is calling it, a "me-first culture".
There are many theories as to why the riots started. For example, some people are saying that it was sparked by the murder of 29 year old Mark Duggan. The police are saying they had to shoot the man because he was a drug dealer, they intended to immobilize him, so they claim, but they killed him. This caused an uproar from people of the United Kingdom.
Another theory suggests that things started out as a small protest, including about 100 people or so, and it escalated from there. Many people are saying people are simple "unemployed, bored, angry, and have nothing better to do."
People of the UK have basically started destroying the place, bit by bit. It started out with a few people stealing TV's and things like that, and now people are setting cars on fire, breaking into buildings, and stealing things. Those are just a few of the offences the people have committed, and police are close to helpless to stop it. The amount of people in jail climbs past 100 each day.
A month ago it was reported that 5 people have been killed in some way due to the riots, one of them being Mark Duggan, but many more have been injured.

where IS the chapstick?!
Okay so I watched this video a long time ago, and i find it hilarious.
I dont find it funny because i am making FUN of her, but because i feel she obviously made this video to be humourous, or else she wouldnt have made it.
the comments people post on her video though upset me. some people write "whereeee's the treadmill?" like, she is overweight, and im sure shes not oblivious to that either, but its also cyberbullying and thats unacceptable, pretty much.
I've heard she has a mental disability, and thats never something to make fun of, that makes me sick because that is something that is completely out of her control.
anyways, watch (:

Nicholas Sparks
Here are some of my favorite quotes! :) enjoy!
The Notebook- Nicholas Sparks
"I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I've ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours. "
"So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday."
"You are my best friend as well as my lover, and I do not know which side of you I enjoy the most. I treasure each side, just as I have treasured our life together."
"You are the answer to every prayer I've offered. You are a song, a dream, a whisper, and I don't know how I could have lived without you for as long as I have."
"They didn’t agree on much. In fact, they didn’t agree on anything. They fought all the time and challenged each other ever day. But despite their differences, they had one important thing in common. They were crazy about each other."
^ The reason I chose to blog about these quotes is because the notebook is one of my favorite movies/books. I really like all the love quotes that Nicholas Sparks comes up with. They basically describe alot in my life and they're really insightful. He is also one of my favorite authors.
"You can't live your life for other people. You've got to do what's right for you, even if it hurts some people you love."
^ This quote I found really helpful, I've found myself in situations where I'm too focused on other peoples feelings and I dont pay enough attention to my own. I've realized that I need to stop worrying so much about how it will affect others and do what's right for me. Sometimes you just need to focus on your own needs and what will push you further ahead in life, so you don't get stuck behind.
Dear John- Nicholas Sparks
"When you're struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person you see is struggling with something, and to them, it's just as hard as what you're going through."
^ This quote really shows that you have to take a look into other peoples lives. Your problems arn't the end or the world, nor the most important. Someone out there always has it worse than you.
"It's possible to go on, no matter how impossible it seems, and that in time, the grief . . . lessens. It may not go away completely, but after a while it's not so overwhelming."
^ Alot of things happen in our lives that we feel we cannot get past. Life does not throw things at you that you can;t handle, even though its tough. Things such as loss of a loved one, broken heart, ect. These are all painful things that we have to deal with, and even though at the time it feels too much to handle and you feel like you can't make it, you have to keep pushing through, because that's what makes you stronger.
The Last Song- Nicholas Sparks
"Sometimes you have to be apart from people you love, but that doesn't make you love them any less. Sometimes you love them more."
^ 'Friendship isn't about being inseperable, it's about being separated and nothing changes.' <3
"you have to love something before you can hate it."
^ It's true. you DO have to love something before you can hate it. It's the same way with people, you have to learn to love them before you can hate them. If you don't take the time to get to know someone, you have no right to automatically judge them or label them a bad person, you can't automatically hate someone.
"They didn’t agree on much. In fact, they didn’t agree on anything. They fought all the time and challenged each other ever day. But despite their differences, they had one important thing in common. They were crazy about each other."

Memories & Life
Memories...
What do you think of when you hear the word "cat" or "dog"? If you've ever had a pet, you'd be thinking of that.
What do you think of when you hear the word "green?" Alot of people might think of the colour green, but when I hear that word, I think of a dream I had when I was little about a leprechaun chasing me and trying to turn the whole world green.
What do you think of when you hear the word "dresses?" Most likely you would be thinking of a dress, maybe one that you own or want. When I hear the word "dress" or "dresses" what comes to my mind is shopping with my mom. The day before I left for vacation with a friend of mine, I went dress shopping. After buying the dresses, instead of going home, I asked to go visit my aunt, who had cancer. I tried on every single dress and modelled for her. She couldn't really speak, but she did smile at me. She couldn't really move, but she clapped her hands for me when I spun around in circles.
I left for my vacation the next day, and when I came back my aunt had passed away, she was my best friend. I still kept those dresses because it was my last memory I have with her.
Life...
Everyone has different memories of different things. I think that memories are so important because they're images of your past that shaped you into who you are today. Some memories make you h a p p y, they make you smile just by thinking about them. Everyone has at least one really happy memory. Like your first time riding a bike, your first kiss, first vacation, ect. Memories can also be s a d, by hearing a certain song or a phrase or seeing something/someone can bring back sad things such as heartbreak or negative thoughts and may leave you feeling in a bad mood. At times like that it's hard to remember the good memories or good things in life, but you always have to remember that someone out there has it much worse than you do. Be positive. Think ahead to the future and be proud of your past. Sure, everyone makes mistakes, we learn from them, and we move on. You can't always focus on bad memories from your past, you have to learn to be happy, you have to be strong even when you feel at your weakest.
I'm a big believer in the saying "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" because it's true. Life doesn't throw you things that you would be unable to handle. We all feel that life isn't fair at some point, but it doesn't have to be.
"No one said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it." ♥
& smile :)

Dying to Please
Statistics Canada showed that 1.5 percent (not alot, im aware) of Canadian women aged 15 to 24 years old have an eating disorder.
Alot of people confuse "dieting" with an eating disorder. An eating disorder is considered an illness, while as dieting is not.
Anorexia Nervosa (Greek for "lack of appetite") is an obsessive fear of gaining weight. This fear is often over-the-top and un necessary, because the person is not overweight. People that have Anorexia starve themselves and often excercise more than they should daily. The side effects of this include: growing soft hairs all over your body, fainting, irregular or loss of monthly periods, dry skin, hair loss, heart damage, and sometimes death.
Bulimia Nervosa- This is someone who eats a large amount of food in a small period of time, which is called binging. They then get rid of the food by purging, aka throwing it up again. They also excercise much more than they should. The effects of this are: tooth enamel erosion, stomach ulcers, ruptures of stomach or esophagus, dehydration, heart attack, and more likely to have suicidal behaviour. and of course, death.
Binge eating disorder- This is best described as eating until your more than full, uncontrolled eating. They often feel out of control and feel ashamed.
The ones I am going to focus on are the first two.
Approximately 7 million women will struggle with an eating disorder, and 1 million males.
10 to 25 percent of these people will die from it.
Most people are hospitalized when they have an eating disorder, and at the early stages they may have to attend therapy sessions.
This all comes back down to BODY IMAGE, something that is overly important to alot of people, mostly due to societies view of "beautiful" or "perfect"
You mostly see it in girls these days, the ones who are dissatisfied with the way they look, and try so hard to change it, especially by dieting.
Now i'm not saying that these girls have an eating disorder, because you cant CHOOSE to have one.
The way the media portrays girls in magazines and on tv, ect, is so unrealistic and i'm going to be blunt here and say -its stupid. pointless. it disgusts me. But thats a whole nother topic.
I believe that everyone is perfect, People should try to accept & be more comfortable in their own skin, because everyone is special & unique. <3

Bad Haircuts.
We've all had bad hair days, it feels like the worst thing in the world when your hair wont co operate. It's even worse when you are stuck with that hair until it grows out.
First off, I dont trust ANYONE cutting my hair. I've had my fair share of bad haircuts, I used to have a mushhroom-cut when i was really little, i looked like a boy, unfortunately. I used to go to the same person every time since i was, like, 6 years old. After she stopped cutting hair, i had to find some place else to go. I wont mention the name of the place, but the next place i went was absolutely horrible.
The first couple times were okay, they did a really good job. They even died my hair back to its natural colour the day before semi formal on short notice.
The last time i went, though, they really messed up. I asked them to just trim the ends of my hair while giving me a different style of bangs, but not making them much shorter.
I was SO mad when she took a chunk of my bangs and snipped them right off, before i could even say anything to her.
she made them layered and so that they stuck out on part of the side,
they were really messed up for a long time, it felt like. Nothing i did with my hair made it look any better.
Of coruse, that was just a small mistake, but i love my hair and it takes a long time to grow back, it can't just grow back over night. I dont hate ym bangs now, but im definately growing them back out and getting someone i TRUST to cut them next time.
I'm just thankful I didn't end up leaving with a mushroom-cut again.

FITNESS SUCKS. (y)
Okay so I realized that fitness is important for your health and all of that, and that apparently the obesity rate in children is higher nowadays, but seriously. Theres a fitness class at our school, i took it first semester of grade 12 and now the second semester.
within the first week of first semester, I got shin splints because we automatically started doing long distance running, 3 times a week, starting at 2k and going up to 10k. I got shin splints but didnt realize because I have never had them, so i kept running. This messed my shins up more, so when i finally got a doctors appointment, it was basically beyond repair. From there i took physio, and it didnt really help, they gave me excercises and all that, and i got off running for half of the semester. when this semester staretd ive been running alot. today i got level 17 in the beep test and now my shins are f*cked again. My physiotherapist thinks I might have a fracture, but I love running. I can't logn distance run, but I can sprint. It sucks when your the only one NOT running in a fitness class, but theres no way im dropping it
Fitness really sucks because every aprt of your body hurts after a workout, even for doing it for a year, it still hurts just as much.
But i guess if i dont wanna get fat, i have to. :)

Pretty Little Liar
Have you ever been in that situation, where someone has lied STRAIGHT TO YOUR FACE, and you just feel like telling them to grow a pair and tell you the truth?
I find that lying is most common within the male gender. I find it ridiculous the amount of lies that us girls have to hear every single day. Not only do we believe those lies, but when we find out from someone else, say, their best friend, that this certain boy lied, we are even more furious then we were to begin with.
Heres a note for all the guys reading this: dont lie to your girl, she WILL find out.
and when she finds out, you better run as fast as your pathetic legs can take you, 'cause she'll be on a rampage.
thats all. :)

Don't stress the small things.
Panic/Anxiety Disorder.
Scientists believe that this disorder stems from a chemical imbalance in the brain.
There is another theory that people who suffer from panic/anxiety attacks have had a bad past experience that can explain why they feel anxious.
Some people feel anxious in crowds or on highways, and maybe an accident happened on one when they were younger and it’s come back up again.
There are a lot of differences between a panic attack and an anxiety attack. They are not just being anxious or scared a little bit, it can be a serious condition.
Panic attack symptoms are:
-racing heartbeat (palpitations)
-chest pains
-stomach upset
-difficulty breathing or a sense of being smothered
-dizziness
-nausea
-tingling or numbness in the hands
-hot flashes or chills
-trembling or shaking
-terror
-a need to escape the situation
-nervousness
-fear of dying in that moment
The symptoms for Anxiety attacks are:
-breathlessness
-racing heart
-shaking
-blurred vision
-stomach symptoms
-difficulty swallowing
-surge of overwhelming panic
-feel of losing control or going crazy
-passing out
-feeling detached or unreal
-hyperventilation
There are many more symptoms of each; they are alike in a lot of ways but also very different. These attacks can happen anywhere but for some people very specific places or things that have to occur in order to have one. People that experience panic or anxiety attacks often find themselves avoiding certain situations that put them in that state, or are almost always concerned of having an episode. These people are only CONVINCED that they are in danger, but no real threat is actually present.
There is a lot of treatment for people that experience this disorder, depending on the frequency of them, how long they last, ect. You can go to therapy for it, or also be put on medication, but again, it all depends.
The reason I'm so educated about this is because I also experience panic and anxiety attacks on a regular basis.
-Tried to make this structured, but just babbled on, sorry :)- ENJOY!
What is Love?
Google defines 'love' as being "a strong positive emotion of regard and affection" or "a deep feeling of sexual desire and attraction".
Nowhere in those definitions does it describe the true feelings of love. It doesn't talk about how connected you feel to a person, how attached you can get. It doesn't talk about how just seeing that one person makes your heart beat faster, or how your palms sweat, or how when you see them it feels like he is the only person in the world. Not only do you get the cliche things such as shakey knee's and butterflies in your stomach, it's much more than that. It's the way they make you feel when they put their arms around you, the way they change your life for the better. How their smile can automatically brighten your day. Hearing their name sends a shiver down your spine.
Alot of people honestly don't know whether they are in love or not. Being "in love" and just loving someone are two totally different things. There's the immature grade 9's who don't know what they're doing in life, thats fake love. Infatuation (aka fake love) - "a foolish and usually extravagant passion or love or admiration". People that think they are just so in love with a guy they met five days ago, they piss me off. You don't find love that way, it's impossible to love someone when you just meet them. Of course that brings up the controversial issure of "love at first sight", that kind of thing should come to you when your older and MUCH more mature.
In order to love someone, you have to realize they have flaws, just like any other person. I mean, sure, you can think that they're perfect, but do you really know them?
You can't say you love someone until you realize and accept their flaws and slight imperfections. In my opinion, you also have to be with them for a long time before you can say you truly love them. It takes more than kisses, hugs, and romantic dates in order to love someone.
Theres also different kinds of love. There's:
Security love- "the feeling of being cared for and nurtured", this is like the love you get from a parent.
Friendship love- "a love between yourself and someone that is totally honest, open and comfortable." This is a love shared between 2 people, either of the same or opposite sex, a very rare and honest mutual feeling.
Romantic love- This is what I explained above.
Unconditional love- "sincere love that lasts forever" This is the person you are destined to be with.
Those are just a few examples of the different types of love. People love many times in their life. They get their heart broken, and feel they can't move on. But thats the best part about it, love is always there. It's everywhere and you can find it in any one.

ABORTION!
"Some babies die by chance, none should die by choice"
Think about this. If you had the choice to kill the person sitting beside you right now, or not to, which one would you choose? Most people would'nt WANT to kill someone, especially if the person beside them happens to be someone they love. That person would'nt have any say in the matter, they would be helpless in that situation.
Now think about this, One baby is killed every 22 seconds.
Did you know that 70,549 of babies have died in Canada in 2010?
Those 70,549 babies were all innocent. As soon as a woman is aware she is pregnant, that baby is HER responsibility, no matter what.
The definion of murder states: “the unlawful killing of another human being with intent.”
If you are purposely aborting a fetus, this is intent, and therefore this is murder.
Personally, I think abortion is the ultimate act of violence towards a person.
When a woman decides to have an abortion and is going through with it, this is considered murder.
Of course, consequnces vary for different woman. I could understand if she was, say, raped and obviously you wouldnt want to be reminded of that incident, abortion could be an option. But if she had voluntary sex with someone she was with, then it is and always will be her own fault.
You are doing this on your own will, no one forces you to do it, this is your own decision and only you can take the blame for it. The child is innocent, born or not, and cant speak for themselves, they're lives are instantly taken away just because of their mother's mistake.
If you think your ready to be having sex, YOU SHOULD BE READY TO ACCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES.
If you murder someone, you can go to jail for 25 years to life. If you have an abortion, you leave child and stress-free and can go on living your life. Well, not to be so harsh as to say that they dont have long-lasting emtional effects on their shoulders, but I find this to be very sickening.
500,000 women are looking to adopt each year. I would think we should be encouraging adoption rather than abortion. There are alot of loving families that are out there. Wouldnt this be a much better choice?
Did you know that by the fourth week of pregnancy you are able to see the limbs of the fetus?
and by the fifth week it has developed a tiny little nose?
By the sixth week of pregnancy, you can see his/her fingers and toes.
Picture this... Instead of giving up, giving in to the pressures of society for being a teenage mother, for being a careless woman who made one mistake, instead of looking for a way to get out of your mistake, i'd say you should embrace it. You'll get over it. Picture holding a tiny baby girl in your arms at age 1, swinging her though the air by age 4, sending her off to school at age 6, helping her through her first heartbreak at age 17, and watching her go off to college. You'd be surprised at how many adults give up this wonderful thing in life, and I'd bet money that each of them regrets it later in life.
--"Abortion. One heart stops. Another one breaks"--
[I am only stating my opinion on here and did/do not have any intent of offending anyone]

[I am only stating my opinion on here and did/do not have any intent of offending anyone]
